Production Fund

The Outset Production Fund was launched by a group of Outset supporters seeking deeper engagement with the process of production and institutional collecting.  The fund facilitates the creation of new works by emerging and mid-career artists with a view towards institutional donation in the UK and abroad.

Projects are selected on an application basis and reviewed in consultation with Outset's broad network of international advisors. To date the Production Fund has helped realise ambitious projects by leading artists including Francis Alys, Yael Bartana, Candice Breitz and Steve McQueen and donated works to public collections in Europe, Israel, Russia and the US.

Production Fund Partners attend our supporters’ programme of events, international trips and project review mornings with artists and curators.
Isabelle Hotimsky is chair of the Production Fund.

Patrons

The commitment of Outset patrons allows the organisation to fulfil its remit of supporting new art. Since 2003, the patrons’ passion and engagement has allowed significant funds to be directed towards the development of artistic and institutional practices.

Outset patrons have supported a range of organisations and initiatives that includes exhibition and education programmes as well as publications, residencies and symposia. Outset patrons have supported London’s leading visual arts organisations as well as a number of institutions throughout the UK and abroad. Projects are selected by Outset directors and their advisors and funded through the donations of patrons and corporate partners.

In March 2011 the Outset Design Fund was launched by Outset co-founder Yana Peel, Ben Evans, director of London Design Festival and designer Francis Sultana. Furthering Outset’s commitment to supporting major public collections, the fund is focused on enabling the acquisition of leading design works for the V&A collection.

The inaugural Design Fund facilitated the largest donation to date given for the acquisition of design at the V&A. A panel of design experts led by Christopher Wilk, Keeper of Furniture, Fashion and Textiles at the V&A, selected works by Fredrikson Stallard, Nendo, BCXSY, Platform and Satyendra Pakhalé.
