'NO SOUL FOR SALE - A FESTIVAL OF INDEPENDENTS', TATE MODERN

To celebrate Tate Modern’s 10th anniversary, the gallery hosted ‘No Soul For Sale – A Festival of Independents’. The festival brought together over 70 of the world’s most exciting independent art spaces, non-profit organisations and artists’ collectives, from Shanghai to Rio de Janeiro, to take over the iconic Turbine Hall with an eclectic mix of cutting-edge arts events, performances, music and film.

For ‘No Soul for Sale’ Para/Site presented Lam Tung Pang's 'Selling My Soul at Tate Modern', an installation and performance in which the artist's extended is practice of mark-making and disappearance from a custom platform anchored above the exhibition floor. Para/Site Art Space is a non-profit organisation, founded as an artist-run space in 1996 and based in the historical Sheung Wan district of Hong Kong.

 

As a leading contemporary art institution in Hong Kong, Para/Site’s activities include an ambitious annual programme comprising of 10 local and travelling exhibitions; a curatorial training programme to nurture tomorrow's talent, as well as a series of talks, seminars and workshops designed to provide a platform for further contact and dialogue throughout the region.
